Graceland Memphis and the Little Rock

Well, I traveled to Little Rock AR as mentioned left no little town in MO or in Ar unturned, but it was a very nice journey, but long. The next day I had meetings in some area not that far from my Motel 6, not as great as I remember them, actually, the nicest Motel 6 I went to was in my beloved Blue Springs and even that wasn't that great... Anyways, so I found the local Starbucks I would spend the majority of my time. Little Rock is a very small little baby place, very clean, people are friendly, I mean, there aren't that many people actually.... Anyways, I think a day or 2 after that... I can't remember as time goes by so fast I drove to Memphis, TN... 3 hours for me always turns into about a 5 hour journey filled with U-turns and confusions I sure am happy I took that GPS that doesnt even work... ho well, by gones... so I drove there, got lost a couple of times and then finally made it. I was staying with I guess my 3rd cousin or something and her husband... they are grown-ups... She has been living in Memphis all her life, she was born there, her father was the brother of my father's grandfather, he as a boxer in NYC before he went down south. That part of the family left Lithuania turn of the century, where as my fathers grandfather stayed in Ponivez Lithuania and was murdered one night, along with his wife... my grand father was un-touched... and his brother was left alive but just barely, anyways so I was staying with them and they were indeed gracious hosts... apparently they have done pretty well for themselves and they own a Jag and a giant house and a sports car and she has huge stones, even if they are fake they are impressive and for some reason I doubt they are fake. So any ways, like I say they were very gracious, although as I arrived she gave a look up and down like only a Jewish woman 70 years old could... and actually truth be told, the was a sense of displeasure at the sight of I guess what she considered unappealing... I guess she was sorry she had set me on a date for that evening... had she known how I look, perhaps she would of reconsidered?! Anyways, so, I have a long memory as you know, so of course was not easy for me to get over that look, but, that didn't prevent them for being very out going and really great hosts, cahpue really... So, I went out that evening and it was fun all in all, I wasn't driving finally so I had a drink and is a shame I didn't have more... I like drinking... :) Anyways, the next day was great! We went to Graceland 1st thing... oh, it was awsome... like I said it has never been my dream to go to Graceland, but i know there are people that it is their dream and so in my search for a meaning... or in my journey through the meaning itself, I am looking for places exactly like Graceland and saints graved and crosses and shrines etc etc etc... I guess this is my obsession with all the dozens of crosses and Jesus Radio and stuff I have encountered on my what is now turning into a spiritual journey or a journey of a spiritual nature... anyways, so I got the full Graceland experience... including the geeky looking guy in glasses but with an elvis hair cut breaking down and crying at the gravestone... I didn't take a pic of him crying but my film maker instincts did recognize that there was something going on with him and so I have a series of shot reverse shots of him... (see above or below...) So actually Graceland was less tacky then I thought it would be if you can imagine that... I mean, I guess my expectations were insane... so the tiger outfitts, the red fur sofa's didn't seem that out there... I liked the decor actually, I am becoming a FREHA... I really am... on my Facebook I wrote that I am becoming Puerto Rican... well the reason I say that is because in NYC I was looking for B&H and stumbled upon a shoe and accessories store (34th and 5th) so you can imagine it is right down town, and all the sales staff were 20 odd year old Puerto Rican girls, finally I felt at home in as far as my Urban Bimbo look is concerened... They too were either wearing black or gold or a combination and like their hair was set in an eligant gucci back crew... So yeah, I didn't feel that Elvis's home was too out there... :) I did very much like the TV room where he already back then had 3 television sets and would watch all 3 channels simultaniously. Anyways, then you go to the Grave and some people brought flowers, others small gifts... and then this guy started crying so he went aside and took a handcerchief... poor thing... then after that we went to have some orgiinal southern fried chicken followed by a visit to the Human Rights museum that was built adjasent to the Laurein Hotel where Rev, Martin Luther King was murdered... so that was very interesting... a great museum... so to conclude Memphis... they have Graceland, they have that Museum for Human Rights... and they have fried chicken... actually they have a nice little street called Beale st, that is where I got an Elvis clock.... elvis the pelvis... I will hang in my kitchen... but all in all it is a very very small place, like very small about 1 million people live in it and the vasinity... that is nothing, but it spread also on a very large area, so basically it looks even like a bigger hole just because it is a lot of space... anyways... so all in all it was cool and I drove back to Little Rock sunday evening in a rain storm from Hell the problem wasn't so much the rain but the wind... but I didnt get too lost and was back in my beloved Little Rock... What I did in Little Rock yesterday was to go to the Clinton Presidential Library, amazing great place, that dipicts the 8 years of the Clinton governing... I had a great visit there and then decided to go on a car tour of Little Rock, primarily to see what is out there because I didn't see any people and didn't fully understand what was going on... finally I found a mall and the people were in the mall and so I shopped and shopped and then went in search of a target or something to but a bag to put all m shopping in it, so it was a great day! I love Little Rock! Little Rock rocks, and they have a great radio stating 107.7 don't know why, but me and that station just meshed really well together . Now I am on the plane to Palo Alto to see sister and nephew and brother in law... not before the security in the airport managed to scratch the surface of my new laptop and I was trapped in a cage as the underwire of my bar was beeping so I couldn't even tell them not to place the plastic crap tray on my lap top... as my bro said, I guess they didn't get exact orders not to place anything on laptops so they did... yes yes it is very hard to think indipendantly that putting anything filthy and disgusting on a white COMPUTER is wrong... I swear no disrespect but it is like they take the most retarded people and they are the ones working in the airport... I of course have no trust that they are able to screen for any attack... but i am sure that no shampoo has been smuggled on this plane!!! Anywho, God willing :0) so to conclude my little road trip, it was really cook and I enjoyed most of it! I drove just over 2500 miles... I don't know how many shekels that it but it is a lot... Peace... we flew over the Grand Canyon on the way over!!!
